  • DR. ALVEDA KING – CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST COMING TO MEMPHIS, SEPT. 14, 2019
    10:00 -13:00
    2019.09.14

Abortion is the leading cause of death in the United States. Not only that, but in Memphis and the rest of the country, abortion is disproportionately killing African American babies. According to the Center for Disease Control, in New York City, the abortion rate is 3.7 times higher among black mothers than white mothers.  Throughout the United States, the statistics show that the practice of abortion in the black community meets four of the United Nations’ five conditions for genocide.  The poor, the marginalized, and minorities are entering the doors of Planned Parenthood in Memphis to abort their children.  It is time to wake Memphis up, and specifically the Church, to the fact that abortion is now the greatest civil rights issue facing the United States today.

Both the Memphis Coalition for Life and a group of Memphis Cursillistas are excited to announce that evangelist Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is coming to Memphis to address the public on this very topic! As the Executive Director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, Dr. King will inspire Christians from all denominations to get involved in the fight to end the atrocity of abortion in Memphis and to save lives from abortion. The free talk and luncheon will be held on Sat. Sept. 14 at 10 AM to 1 PM at  St. Louis Catholic Church, Memphis, TN 38106 and is open to the public. To attend or donate to this event, please visit:
