Facilities Maintenance Technician

St. Ann Catholic Church

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks related to carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and grounds maintenance.  He/she will ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of our facilities and equipment. This is a vital role in our organization as your work will have a direct impact on the overall efficiency and safety of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and resolve maintenance issues
  • Paint, refurbish, remodel areas as needed
  • Maintain exterior property, including snow removal
  • Assist with event setups and breakdowns
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing or replacing faulty equipment, fixtures, and systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problems
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with other departments to schedule and coordinate maintenance projects
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repair and replacement costs
  • Respond promptly to any emergency maintenance requests

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Experience working in facilities maintenance
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multitask

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

  • Ability to push/lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders and walk on roofs
  • Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures
  • Working around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints
