St. Louis Catholic School

St. Louis Catholic School is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Junior High Spanish Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, with licensed teachers preferred. Knowledge of the mission of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Memphis, as well as the specific mission of St. Louis Catholic School, is essential. Proficiency in the Spanish language conventions, along with demonstrated proficiency in utilizing technology in the classroom and effective classroom management, are required. Additionally, applicants should possess strong skills in planning and executing engaging lessons and collaborating as part of a cohesive team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Spanish language curriculum for Junior High students, aligned with state and national standards.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to engage students in meaningful language learning experiences.
  • Incorporate technology effectively into lessons to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes language acquisition and cultural appreciation.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a conducive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and support student success.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay abreast of current trends and best practices in language education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related field.
  • Licensed teacher preferred.
  • Knowledge of the mission of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Memphis and St. Louis Catholic School.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish, with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the utilization of technology in the classroom.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Ability to plan and execute engaging and effective lessons that meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
