
Our Lady of Perpetual Help School
Our Lady of Perpetual Help School is currently seeking to fill the position of Principal. The school Principal is the instructional and spiritual leader of the school community. The Principal is a practicing Catholic, faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church, a mission-driven individual who embraces and advances the Catholic identity and culture of the school. Overseeing the management of the day-to-day operations of the school, the Principal is committed to the development, achievement and well-being of the students, and the pursuit of academic excellence by those students.
Responsibilities include:
- Holding a seat on OLPH School’s local school board
- Faculty and staff recruitment, retention and development, including ongoing supervision and assessment
- Direction and implementation of academic programming
- Student retention, recruitment, and admissions
- School development and advancement activities
- Maintain proper accreditation and complete all accreditation requirements in a timely manner
- Communicate and collaborate with the Parish Administrator and the School Board
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic, faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church
- A Masters degree in education, leadership, school administration, or related field
- At least 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in a Catholic school
- 3-5 years of experience in school leadership, preferably in a Catholic school
- Strong understanding of developmental needs of elementary age students
- Experience building positive and collaborative relations with parents, teachers, parish community, and the broader community
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and presentation skills
- Capable of making tough decisions that support the school’s mission
