St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School
Reports to: Athletic Director
Job Summary: This person will provide overall leadership and organization for the
St. Agnes Academy Soccer program and serve as the head coach for the varsity soccer team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Responsible for leading competitive SAA Soccer program
•Uphold and model the core values of the SAA Athletic Department: Commitment, Pride, Sacrifice, Work Ethic, and Respect
•Monitor academic progress of soccer athletes to ensure they comply with academic standards
•Assume responsibility for coordinating the soccer coaching staff and program in all divisions to ensure appropriate instruction and development
•Plan and coach highly engaging and challenging practices that develop skills and prepare players for high level varsity competition
•Coordinate with coaches of other schools for scheduling competitions, logistics, and Region meetings
•Coordinate with SAA Athletic Administration
•Communicate openly with parents of players
•Assist in recruiting coaches for other SAA soccer teams and mentor less experienced coaches by checking in regularly and assisting with coaching clinics
•Manage soccer equipment and communicate with athletic administration about future needs
•Organize fundraising efforts for program needs and out of town travel
•Participate in athletic department coaches meetings
•Responsible for creating a positive environment where athletes can build strong relationships with other players and coaches
•Demonstrate good sportsmanship and maintain appropriate conduct towards the student-athletes, opposing team, officials, spectators, etc.
Other duties as assigned
•Encouraged to coach sports clinics in the summer
• Help as needed with Administrator On Duty (AOD) for home games
• Build strong, lasting relationships with athletes, inspiring them to hold themselves to a
high standard of academics and character
• Establish and uphold team expectations that support athletes to develop increased agency,
responsible autonomy and ownership over their commitments
• Maintain close relationships with families, including open communication and building
The ideal candidate is a dynamic and engaging leader who is actively involved in the applicable
sport community, understands the skill progression of the sport, has the ability to teach the
skills, and the organization to manage the needs of a competitive varsity sport. Must be available
to work afternoons Monday-Friday and some Saturdays. A minimum of three years coaching
experience at a comparable level is preferred.
