You’re invited to join youth from across the Diocese to attend Soul to Soul: Youth Mass with Bishop Talley at OLPH. The day is packed with activity for teens to fellowship, serve, and worship together with our Bishop.  Thanks to the OLPH Knights of Columbus, we will be offering the event free of charge this year.

Youth Groups are challenged to collect and bring new and used books for children aged 0 to 12 to give to Project Outreach, a service organization serving the poor in Fayette County. Project Outreach, in conjunction with Collierville Literacy Council, is offering a class at the Moscow TN Elementary School for parents of children aged 1-4. They will train parents, some who are not able to read themselves, in techniques to prepare their children to read. After each of the weekly classes the parents will be given a copy of one of the books they used that day in training.

Our hopes are that this is only a beginning and that the adult parents will continue to study with Collierville Literacy Council to become good readers and then to earn their High School Equivalency Certificate. At Soul to Soul, youth will be sorting the collected books by age group, placing nameplates on the inside covers, and loading the books into delivery vehicles. There will also be crafts available for the youth to make their own bookmarks for the day.
