2019 Holy Family Award Winners Named Catholic Charities of West Tennessee announces recipients of its highest honor Memphis, TN – Dec. 3, 2019 – Catholic Charities of West Tennessee (CCWTN) recently recognized its Holy Family Award honorees for 2019. “Awarded annually, our Holy Family Award is the highest honor we bestow, and it recognizes the efforts of individuals, groups and organizations who have committed to advancing the mission of Catholic Charities of West Tennessee,” said Fr. Al Kirk, Interim Executive Director of CCWTN. “Each of these honorees inspires us by their generosity and allows us to grow through their active support.” This year’s honorees are:
  • Philanthropic Partner
    • Anonymous:  Our 2019 Philanthropic partner has chosen to remain anonymous. 
  • Community Partner
    • The Urban Child Institute: The Urban Child Institute is a valued partner of Catholic charities of west Tennessee and a strong supporter of Camp Love & Learn, our six-week academic enrichment summer camp. The Urban Child Institute focuses on improving the lives of children in Shelby County and is a natural fit with Camp Love & Learn, where the focus is on preventing the academic summer-slide. We are very grateful for the partnership and collaboration with The Urban Child Institute that allows us to better serve our community. 
 
  • Volunteer of the Year
    • Julie Ledet: Mrs Julie Ledet has been a volunteer in the Clothes Closet of Catholic Charities since the summer of 2018. Julie works tirelessly to ensure that the clients who visit our Clothes Closet have a wonderful experience. Julie’s positive demeanor brightens the day of those she interacts with in our Clothes Closet. 
Each honoree was acknowledged, and two recipients were presented with their awards on Friday, Dec. 2, 2019 at a breakfast reception held in their honor at our offices at 1325 Jefferson Ave.
