Our year-long Golden Jubilee celebrations began during Advent
(Nov. 28-29, 2020) at our 47 Parishes-Missions. Click on the link to read Our 50th Anniversary Prayer.
This year, there will be many events celebrating our 50th Anniversary, including special Masses, Days of Service by Catholic Charities, Multicultural Festivals in late summer, the Eucharistic Congress in October, concerts in November and the Final Celebratory Masses at the end of November. We welcome all who can come to Memphis to join us so “That all may be one.” You are welcome to email questions about these events to: rick.ouellette@cc.cdom.org
CCWTN Days of Service
Through our wonderful Catholic Charities of West Tennessee, our Diocese will hold special Jubilee Year Community Service activities in each of our four Deaneries. Serving together to support our neighbors struggling with food insecurity, homelessness, and literacy gaps. There were family friendly events to pack snack packs, hygiene kits, and literacy kits to be distributed locally in areas of most need across West Tennessee.
Multicultural Festivals, Aug. 28 and Sept. 11
Please join us at the first Diocesan Multicultural Festival on August 28th on the grounds of St. Louis Parish (203 S. White Station Rd. in Memphis) to celebrate the cultural tapestry of our diocese. Your “taste around the world” will include delicacies from: Columbia, El Salvador, Honduras, India, Korea, Mexico, Philippines, Poland, Vietnam and the United States of America.
Sit at a picnic table while you enjoy your tasty treats and watch a variety of entertainers, such as: Aztec and Indian dancers, musicians and even a Filipino fashion show. Take a break between treats and go shopping at the crafts fair.
Tickets are available at $1.00 for purchase on-site to sample food items, beverages and to purchase a 50th Anniversary Commemorative T-shirt ($10 small to x-large, $12 for xx-large and xxx-large.). Food samples are priced by each host team and may require more than 1 ticket.
Our deepest appreciation to all the host teams who are donating their time and talent by planning, preparing and serving the food for everyone.
