Announcing Our United in Faith Capital Campaign
It is with great excitement that our Catholic Diocese of Memphis announces our United in Faith Campaign. As we continue to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of our Memphis Diocese across West Tennessee, we are now starting to focus our attention on building up our Diocese and the faith-filled lives of each of you for the next 50 years and beyond.
“As we approach the end of our Golden Jubilee year, That All May Be One (John 17:21), we look forward to the next 50 years with our Diocesan Capital Campaign United in Faith,” said Bishop David Talley, Memphis Diocese. “The campaign will help our Diocese and all our Parishes and Missions to continue to grow, thrive and live our faith for many more years with our Lord’s blessings.”
United in Faith focuses on that forward planning. By developing endowments in the key areas of: Seminarian and Diaconate Education, Youth, College & Young Adult Ministries and Priest Retirement, we create crucial funding sources as our Memphis Diocese expands across West Tennessee. We have also incorporated our 2022 Annual Catholic Appeal into our campaign, allowing the focus to remain on this historic endeavor.
Bishop Talley added, “I am always inspired by our parishioners offering themselves in service to many in need, through ministries, activities and outreach meetings to connect, pray and build community–which all follows the Golden Rule of Our Lord…To Love Our Neighbors (Matthew 7:12).”
Also, while we are one Diocese, each of our 47 Parishes and Missions has its own individual needs. The United in Faith campaign provides for those needs to be fulfilled. When a parishioner makes a pledge or a gift to the campaign, 50 percent of the gift will remain at the Parish or Mission. “As we strengthen the individual parts, so too do we strengthen the whole as One,” said Bishop Talley.
Bishop Talley and all our Clergy are asking you to join them in your support of the United in Faith Capital Campaign. Each Parish and Mission will be conducting the campaign on an individualized timeline that best suits their needs–and all campaigns will begin before June of 2022.
As you consider your sacrificial gift, please know Bishop Talley has demonstrated his commitment to the campaign with a pledge of $25,000 to be paid over the next four years. His gift may not be equal to yours, but what can be equal is the spirit of sacrifice and service to our Church in faith and love!
