Exciting news! Starting this Sunday afternoon, July 9, and ending next Sunday afternoon, July 16, several teams are biking across America and pedaling more than 2,500 miles as part of the Biking for Babies Nationwide Team. Biking for Babies brings together Young Adults across the Nation with shared interests in promoting the Pro-Life mission of pregnancy resource clinics across our country. They happily give their time and talents freely to rebuild and rejuvenate the Culture of Life in America. For several weeks, these riders have been preparing spiritually, physically and mentally to ride more than 150 miles per day in support of these crisis pregnancy centers clients, services and material needs. All the teams will be meeting at a central point in the U.S. (St. Louis, Mo.) on July 16, for a huge celebration of Life Rally. Our Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 4851 Park Ave., Memphis, has been asked to be the host church for the Biking for Babies Southern Team. The team’s route starts July 9 in Natchez to Clinton to Clarksdale, Miss.; and then to Memphis and Dyersburg, Tenn.; and then to Sikeston and St. Louis, Mo. our Respect for Life Committee at Holy Rosary Church and its Knights of Columbus, Council #4312, will be working together to provide Dinner for the Biking for Babies event on Wednesday evening, July 12, when the Bikers reach Memphis. The event begins with Holy Mass, 6pm, followed by Dinner, 7pm, in the Family Room. All are invited to join the Bikers for Dinner and a short presentation about Biking for Babies by Fr. Patrick Hirtz, Pastor, Holy Angels, and the Southern Team of Riders who will be riding into Memphis from Clarksdale. Also, the next evening, Thursday, July 13, Fr. Hirtz will have Holy Mass at our Holy Angels Catholic Church, 535 Tucker St., Dyersburg, 5pm, followed by a Potluck Dinner with the Bikers. All are invited to attend the Mass and Dinner.
