Casey Weber and Jonathan Perez Ordained to the Diaconate

Memphis, Tn — What a wonderful day May 16th was for two of our Seminarians, Casey Weber (left-photo) and Jonathan Perez (right-photo). They were ordained to the Diaconate at the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans by Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond. As Seminarians, Casey spent last summer at St. Mary’s in Jackson and Jonathan was at Holy Spirit–and they were a joy to all parishioners at both Parishes.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans streamed the Ordination Mass at 10:00am (cst) on May 16th. Please click here to see the Mass. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and concerns for the health of our neighbors (the Golden Rule of Jesus, Mt. 7.12), the Ordination was not held as a public Mass. Please share this special news and encourage all of our Diocesan family members to watch the celebration, so that we may come together as one, even if only virtually for now, to support and accompany Casey and Jonathan on this very special date.

Archbishop Aymond ordained our two Seminarians plus other seminarians from Alexandria and New Orleans. Let’s pray with Bishop David P. Talley for Casey and Jonathan and all seminarians within our Catholic Diocese of Memphis. After the Ordination, Casey and Jonathan will come back in Memphis for the summer (Casey will be at St. Ann in Bartlett and Jonathan will be at Incarnation) before returning to Notre Dame Seminary for their last year of formal formation.  See a live taping of Casey Webers First Mass here.
