Catholic Schools Receive Funding from Germantown Christian 49ers

Our Diocese is pleased to share that Frank P. Lamanna, Secretary, Germantown Christian 49ers, Inc., recently presented four Catholic Schools checks totaling $27,620 to Bishop David P. Talley and Dr. Chris Fay, President, Memphis Catholic Schools. The checks were presented in honor of the late Germantown Christian 49ers President Frank McFadden, who passed away earlier this year. 
Over the past 28 years, the Germantown Christian 49ers have donated more than $280,000 in Scholarship funds to various Catholic Schools in our Diocese. Our Catholic Schools recipients of the funds for the 2025-2026 school year, as designated by our Memphis Catholic Schools Office of the President, are:
— St. Benedict at Auburndale High School: $8,540
 St. Ann Catholic School, Bartlett: $8,540
 St. Mary’s Catholic School, Jackson: $8,540
 Holy Cross Catholic PreSchool, Paris: $2,000
All monies given go into each Catholic School’s scholarship endowment fund and are earmarked for students that require assistance based on financial need as determined by the Pastor or School Administration.
