Communal Prayers for Our Country in July

Based off the videos and prayers from our Bishop as July begins, our Fishers of Men and the Monday Night Disciples in New Orleans want to share the attached prayers. They are asking to join them in praying for our country each day for the rest July. As said to the Fishers group, the more we pray it, the more meaningful it becomes. Let’s commit to the daily prayers and, together, we can make our voices heard and plead with God and the Blessed Mother to help unify and heal our country.

Please join our Fishers of Men and the Monday Night Disciples in New Orleans in daily prayer for America…

The Daily Litany for the United States of America

Heavenly Father we give you all Praise, Honor and Glory. Sacred Heart of Jesus hear us. Holy Spirit guide the leaders of our country. Immaculate Heart of Mary lead us back to your Son. St. Joseph make us agents of love, mercy and forgiveness. St. Michael protect our country against all evil. All Saints in heaven pray for the USA.

To Our Blessed Mother

O Most Blessed Virgin Mother of Mercy, at this most crucial time, we entrust the United States of America to your loving care. Most Holy Mother, we beg you to reclaim this land for the glory of your Son. Overwhelmed with the burden of the sins of our nation, we cry to you from the depths of our hearts and seek refuge in your Motherly protection. Look down with mercy upon us and touch the hearts of our people.

Entrustment of America to The Blessed Virgin St. John Paul II (1979)

“The bishops of the Church in the United States have chosen you in the mystery of your Immaculate Conception as the Patroness of the People of God in this country. May the hope enclosed in this mystery prevail over sin and may it be shared among all the sons and daughters of America and throughout the human family. In a period during which the struggle between good and evil, between the prince of darkness and the Father of light and of evangelical love is becoming greater, may the light of your Immaculate Conception show to all the way of grace and salvation. Amen.”

(During his first Pastoral Visit to the United States in 1979, which included a visit to Philadelphia, Pope John Paul II made an Act of Entrustment to the Blessed Virgin, which he recited on October 7 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.)
