As of Saturday, Jan. 6, our Catholic Diocese of Memphis has two new Priests: Father Mateusz Wegrzyn and Father Horst Lorenz. Praise be to God!
It was a packed and beautiful Ordination to the Priesthood for Fr. Mateusz and Fr. Horst at our magnificent and historic Mother Church, The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1695 Central Ave.
Bishop David P. Talley was the Celebrant and Homilist with Bishop Emeritus J. Terry Steib and numerous Priests as Concelebrants. Many Deacons, Seminarians, Altar Servers, Knights of Columbus, and Knights of Peter Claver assisted—and the Choir and Music was amazing, as always. Also, thank you to Religious Brothers and Sisters, the Consecrated, and hundreds of the Faithful for the attendance and support.
Please pray for our two newest and wonderful Priests on this 53rd Anniversary of our Diocese. Going forward, their Priest assignments are as follows:
• Fr. Mateusz will be a Parochial Vicar at our beautiful St. Ann Catholic Church, 6529 Stage Rd., Bartlett, starting Feb. 1.
• Father Horst will be a Parochial Vicar at The Cathedral, from Feb. 1-June 30, 2024.
