Our Catholic Diocese of Memphis is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Holland as Associate Director for Campus and Young Adult Ministry in the Office of Evangelization & Faith Formation. He reports to Sam Mauck, Director of Evangelization & Faith Formation for our Diocese.

Dan officially began his new leadership role last Wednesday, July 1, serving alongside Corey Kieffer on the Diocesan Campus Ministry team. His primary responsibility will be supporting students at the University of Memphis while helping advance the Diocese’s Vision and Mission of accompanying college students and young adults in their relationship with Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church.

“Dan brings a wealth of experience in Catholic Campus Ministry, a heart for evangelization, and a genuine love for walking with young adults during a pivotal time in their lives,” said Sam. “His proven leadership and joyful witness to the Catholic faith makes him an outstanding addition to our team. We are excited to welcome him to Memphis.”

A native of Scranton, Penn., Dan is a lifelong Catholic whose dedication to ministry began at an early age while working at The Cathedral in his hometown. After attending Catholic Schools, he enrolled at the University of Missouri, where his involvement with the Newman Center helped shape his vocational call to campus ministry.

Since 2015, Dan has served in Catholic Campus Ministry at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, West Virginia University, Arkansas State University, and, most recently, in Farmville, Va., where he spent four years serving students at Hampden-Sydney College and Longwood University.

His formation has been enriched by a variety of Catholic traditions, including Jesuit education during High School, Dominican ministry during college, and Benedictine formation at St. Meinrad Archabbey. Those experiences have cultivated a broad appreciation for the richness and diversity of Catholic spirituality and ministry.

Outside of ministry, Dan enjoys following sports, particularly the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and University of Missouri Tigers. He is also an avid movie-goer and enjoys spending time with his three nieces.
