Our Catholic Charities of West Tennessee has been notified that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, the program that helps thousands of West Tennessee families put food on the table, will not be distributed in Tennessee beginning tomorrow, November 1.
That means tens of thousands of local children, seniors, veterans, and working families will begin facing empty pantries and impossible choices such as food or rent, medicine or diapers.
CCWTN is already seeing an influx of people coming to its campus in search of help, and they are working closely with local partners to increase support.
CCWTN’s Emergency Services team is expanding food distribution to meet this crisis head on. While they are praying for the best, they are also planning for the worst, preparing to serve a surge of families who may suddenly find themselves without the help they depend on.
Over the next 30 days, CCWTN plans to increase its emergency food services by at least 30 percent to meet the growing need, but they cannot do it alone.
To make this possible, CCWTN must raise $30,000 immediately. Funding now will provide meals for families who have nowhere else to turn. Every dollar helps many neighbors in need during this critical time.
Together, all of us, across our Diocese in 46 parishes, 13 schools, and many ministries, can be the steady hand that lifts our neighbors toward hope. Please contribute, through this link: https://ccwtn.org/….
