Father Russ Harbaugh Enters Eternal Life

It is with great sadness that Bishop David P. Talley and our Diocese share the passing of Father Russ Harbaugh.

Fr. Russ entered eternal life this past Saturday morning, April 18. He was ordained into the Priesthood of Jesus Christ on June 5, 2004, after a 22-year career in the United States Navy.

In the Navy, Fr. Russ served in Japan, Washington, D.C., Arlington, Va., United Kingdom, and the Naval Hospital in Millington, Tenn. He received the Meritorious Service Medal and the Navy Commendation Medal twice, and he achieved the rank of Commander before his retirement in 1992.

Once ordained a Priest, Fr. Russ served as an Associate Pastor at Holy Rosary, Memphis, and Pastor of Holy Angels, Dyersburg, St. Ann, Bartlett, and Holy Rosary.

Please join us in praying for the repose of Fr. Russ’s soul and pray for peace and strength for all his family and friends that are suffering through his loss. May God grant him eternal rest.

The Funeral Arrangements have been finalized for Fr. Russ:

— Visitation: Thursday, April 23, from 5:00pm-7:00pm, at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1695 Central Ave.

— Funeral Mass: Friday, April 24, 11:00am, at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1695 Central Ave. Bishop David P. Talley will be the Celebrant and Monsignor Val Handwerker will be the Homilist.

Note: Internment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
