Immaculate Conception Cathedral School 8th-grader A’ja Joliff is in Washington DC this week, where she is a participant in the annual Junior National Young Leaders Conference. The JrNYLC is the premier leadership program for Middle School students and is designed to empower, engage, and equip next generation leaders to realize the power of their potential. Participants are selected based on teacher nominations.
Students at JrNYLC learn to work together as they develop action plans that they can put into practice in their homes and communities, and continue beyond their conference experience. Students also explore monuments and memorials in the nation’s capital and participate in an exclusive Capitol Hill experience.
