Job Overview

St. Benedict at Auburndale is seeking a passionate and creative Full-Time Art Teacher to inspire students through visual arts education. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic educator dedicated to cultivating students’ artistic talents, critical thinking, and appreciation for the arts in alignment with Catholic values.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive visual arts curriculum for high school students, integrating various artistic mediums and techniques.
• Provide engaging and interactive instruction in drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and other forms of creative expression.
• Encourage students to explore their artistic potential while fostering an appreciation for art history, theory, and cultural influences.
• Organize and coordinate student participation in art exhibitions, school-wide showcases, and community art projects.
• Maintain an inspiring and structured classroom environment that promotes artistic inquiry, creativity, and respect for diverse perspectives.
• Collaborate with faculty and administration to integrate interdisciplinary approaches to art education.
• Support the mission and values of SBA by incorporating Catholic teachings and ethical perspectives into the curriculum when appropriate.
• Guide students in developing art portfolios for college applications and professional opportunities.
• Stay current with trends and best practices in art education, continuously improving teaching strategies and resources.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid teaching certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Experience teaching visual arts at the high school level preferred.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating artistic expertise and instructional experience.
• Passion for mentoring and inspiring students of diverse artistic abilities.
• Commitment to fostering a faith-based educational environment consistent with Catholic values.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
