Key Responsibilities

Academic Excellence & Leadership

  • Provide professional leadership in organizing, administering, supervising, and evaluating curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning.
  • Develop and implement innovative academic strategies that enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Design and lead professional development programs for principals, teachers, and school staff.
  • Supervise and support the development of curriculum from Preschool through 12th grade, ensuring it is infused with Catholic teachings and traditions.
  • Oversee and monitor the framework for curriculum mapping and implementation across all schools.
  • Appoint and lead committees to assist in the review and development of curriculum, assessment, and instructional strategies.

Oversight & Compliance

  • Oversee accreditation processes for both elementary and high schools.
  • Ensure all schools comply with state and federal educational standards.
  • Establish policies and best practices to maintain academic excellence.
  • Monitor the selection of textbooks and supplementary materials for diocesan schools.
  • Stay current on research, trends, and developments in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

Assessment & Data-Driven Improvement

  • Develop and coordinate standardized assessment programs across all schools.
  • Create and implement a reporting strategy for system-wide standardized assessment results.
  • Serve as a liaison to schools, helping them utilize testing data to improve student achievement.
  • Establish procedures for evaluating academic programs and instructional effectiveness.

Collaboration & Community Engagement

  • Partner with the Catholic Schools Office, pastors, school leaders, and the wider diocesan community to enhance Catholic education.
  • Conduct regular school visits to provide guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Facilitate the resolution of parent concerns, ensuring transparency and community trust.

Professional Development & Leadership Formation

  • Organize an annual diocesan-wide professional development conference for faculty and staff.
  • Guide and mentor school administrators in teacher evaluations, observations, instructional coaching, and professional learning.
  • Facilitate the discernment and formation of future Catholic school leaders.

What We’re Looking For

We seek an inspirational Catholic leader with a deep commitment to faith and education. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A practicing Catholic faith with a strong commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
  • A Master’s degree or higher in Education, preferably in Curriculum & Instruction, from an accredited institution.
  • A Tennessee state teaching and/or leadership license (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • A minimum of five years of teaching experience, preferably in Catholic schools.
  • Catholic school leadership experience preferred.
  • Expertise in curriculum development, instructional leadership, assessment practices, and professional learning.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the diocese.
