St. Benedict at Auburndale High School (SBA), a vibrant Catholic college preparatory school in the Diocese of Memphis, is seeking a passionate and visionary Head Baseball Coach to lead our varsity baseball program. SBA is committed to fostering excellence in academics, athletics, and spiritual growth—and we’re looking for a leader who shares that commitment and brings energy, integrity, and competitive spirit to the field.

💼 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the high school baseball program (Varsity, JV, and Freshman as applicable).
  • Develop a year-round training and conditioning program that promotes skill development, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaches, ensuring alignment with school and diocesan values.
  • Organize and conduct effective practices, game-day strategies, and player development plans.
  • Oversee player eligibility, academic performance, and adherence to TSSAA regulations.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, faculty, and the wider SBA community.
  • Uphold and model Catholic values in all interactions, promoting character formation and faith in athletics.
  • Maintain inventory, equipment, and facilities in collaboration with the athletic department.

🎓 Qualifications:

  • Prior successful coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level (head coaching experience preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of the game and ability to teach fundamentals and advanced techniques.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A commitment to the mission of Catholic education and the formation of student-athletes.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; teaching certification or experience in education is a plus.
  • Must meet all Diocese of Memphis Safe Environment requirements.
