Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music (B.S. or equivalent)
- Valid Teaching Certification in Elementary Music Education
- Orff Schulwerk training/experience preferred
Position Overview:
Are you ready to inspire the next generation of musicians? St. Louis Catholic School is looking for a passionate, energetic Music Teacher to engage and uplift students from kindergarten through 8th grade. We seek an educator with a strong musical foundation, keyboard proficiency, and a love for sharing the joy of music in both classroom and liturgical settings.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead vibrant, developmentally appropriate music classes for K–8 students.
- Create dynamic weekly lesson plans that meet educational standards and integrate seamlessly into our school curriculum.
- Serve as the pianist/keyboardist for all school Masses — keyboard proficiency is essential.
- Incorporate Catholic liturgical music, hymns, and an understanding of the liturgical calendar into instruction and performances.
- Direct and rehearse the Children’s Choir for school Masses and special events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to prepare and direct performances, including:
- Kindergarten Christmas Program (with Early Childhood Center staff)
- Grandparents Day celebrations (ECC through 8th Grade)
- Kindergarten Graduation
- Christmas and Spring Drama performances (in partnership with the Drama Coach)
