The school receptionist will provide clerical support to the school as directed by the school principal and will act as a liaison between the community, the school, and other internal and external stakeholders.  The receptionist will greet visitors to the school, answer the phone and direct calls accordingly and/or take messages, and answer the doors and intercom system. Additionally, the receptionist will complete the daily absentee report and contact parents of absent students by the end of the day and take care of children when they come to the office due to illness or other needs. The receptionist will sort through and distribute classroom mail, prepare classroom folders/envelopes, and make copied for teachers and staff as needed. Additionally, the receptionist will give school tours when needed, and distribute enrollment paperwork of prospective families to the Recruitment Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Demonstrated administrative/secretarial experience in school or business setting
  • Some experience with public relations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • High level of organization
  • Working knowledge of computer software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
