May 17, 2019 – For the first time this year, Catholic Charities of West Tennessee invited Catholic schools in our area to engage in a little friendly fundraising competition by hosting a Jeans Day benefitting Catholic Charities and the work they do to help the needy members in our community.  The school that raised the most money per student would have the honor of displaying the traveling Jeans Day plaque at their school for the year.  The six schools that participated raised over $3,800 for Catholic Charities where they serve those in need through the Housing Ministery, Food Pantry, mobile food distribution, Clothing Closet, Reading Room, and the Immigration program.  Of the six participating schools, SFA raised the most per student and was awarded the Jeans Day plaque by Mrs. Brenda O’Looney from Catholic Charities of West TN.
