This October is the Fiftieth Annual Respect Life Month. As a Church, we set aside the first Sunday of October to pray for the respect and protection of every human life, in all stages and circumstances. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) theme this year is “Radical Solidarity,” a term from Pope St. John Paul II about the need for Christians to support mothers in difficult pregnancies. Learn more about the theme in the statement from the Chairman of the USCCB Committee on Pro-Life Activities at: http://usccb.org/…/us-bishops-pro-life-chairman-asks…. You can find resources from USCCB, including prayers and reflections, at respectlife.org/respect-life-month. Also, throughout October, stay tuned to our Diocese’s Facebook and Instagram for Mass celebrations and more on Respect for Life Month.
