The roof represents the three primary gifts that God entrusts to every Christian:
Time – the precious gift of life and moments to be offered back to God.
Talent – the abilities, skills, and charisms given for the building up of His Kingdom.
Treasure – the material and financial resources entrusted to our care for the good of others and the Church’s mission.
Like a roof shelters and protects a home, these three gifts cover and guide all our stewardship efforts, uniting them under one mission: to love God and neighbor with all we have and are.
The Walls – Hospitality, Prayer, Formation, and Service
The four walls are the structural supports that hold up the Church’s life of stewardship.
Hospitality – welcoming Christ in every person.
Prayer – staying rooted in God’s presence and direction.
Formation – growing in knowledge and love of the faith.
Service – acting with love to meet the needs of others.
Just as walls hold a roof in place, these virtues keep our stewardship firmly grounded in the Gospel and the life of the Church.
The Floor – Creation, Vocation, Culture, and Citizenship
The floor represents the real-world areas where stewardship is lived out.
Creation – caring for the earth as God’s handiwork.
Vocation – living one’s unique call from God with faithfulness.
Culture – celebrating and sharing the gifts of language, tradition, and heritage in Christ.
Citizenship – engaging in society and civic life as disciples of Jesus.
A strong floor allows the whole house of stewardship to stand firmly and serve as a place where God’s people can live out their mission in daily life.
