All Saints Day, All Souls Day and Indulgence in November

Our Catholic Center will be closed today, Monday, Nov. 1, which is All Saints Day. It is a solemn Holy Day of the Catholic Church celebrated annually on Nov 1. The day is dedicated to the Saints of the Church, that is, all those who have attained heaven.

All Saints Day should not be confused with All Souls Day, which is observed tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 2, and is dedicated to those who have died and not yet reached heaven.

Tomorrow morning, Nov. 2, please join Bishop Talley for an outdoor Mass at our Historic Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 1663 Elvis Presley Blvd., commemorating All Souls Day—and to honor the Sisters of the Poor Clares. Bishop Talley will be the Celebrant and Homilist, and. Priest and Deacons will be at the Mass from across our Diocese. All are welcome to commemorate the faithfully departed. Any questions or more information, call Catholic Cemeteries: 901-948-1529.

Catholics can get an indulgence for the dead by praying at a Cemetery any day in November. Click the link to read about it: CNANewsIndulgence.
