The Most Reverend David P. Talley, Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Memphis, and the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities of West Tennessee (CCWTN) announce that Kelley Henderson, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of West Tennessee, will transition to President and CEO of Catholic Social Services in Columbus, Ohio, effective October 2, 2023.

Henderson joined CCWTN in February 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the United States. During his tenure, not only did CCWTN’s door remain open to serve the basic needs of our homeless and most vulnerable population, but the organization grew by 60 percent in service volume and 176 percent in volunteerism. Additionally, CCWTN added eight additional service locations.

“We have been blessed by Kelley’s leadership over past three and a half years,” Bishop Talley said. “His vision and passion for the homeless and underserved has resulted in service to nearly 40,000 of our friends in need across our Diocese. We wish him much success and pray many blessings on him as he continues his vocation to serve the poor in the Diocese of Columbus.”

Catholic Charities of West Tennessee Board Chairman, Jonathan Lyons adds, “I would like to thank Kelley for his service and stewardship. Under his leadership has emerged the most diverse, extremely talented, and invested team, which has streamlined our operations, improved efficiencies, and extended our reach into more than 12 counties across West Tennessee. This team, along with our thousands of selfless volunteers, has made our organization one of the most trusted and reliable resources for our neighbors in need. The Board of Directors and I are confident that this dedicated team will continue the excellent and compassionate work that they do each day.”

The Board of Directors will name an Interim Director in the coming weeks and will begin a comprehensive search process for its next leader.
