About Monsignor Leppert
Monsignor Leppert was the second Pastor of St. Theresa Church and Little Flower School. He shepherded the parish through the turbulent 1960s when many families began moving to other parishes. With the closing of St. Anthony Catholic Church in 1963, Monsignor Leppert welcomed them and all African American families to this evolving neighborhood and in establishing an integrated parish in Memphis. Monsignor Leppert was succeeded by Father John Scola, Monsignor Edwin Creary, Father Edward Byrnes, Father Robert Ewing, Father David Foley, Father Richard Coy, Father Carl Hood, Father Patrick Gallagher, and now Father Gonzalez. The parish is forever grateful to Monsignor Leppert and all who have served the parish.
St. Theresa in Midtown
Our St. Theresa The Little Flower Catholic Church has been bringing the Heart of Christ to the heart of Midtown Memphis for more than 90 years. The parishioners of parish have as its mission to share the fullness of the Gospel with all they encounter by forming and equipping intentional disciples to establish and strengthen a personal relationship with Christ in His Mysteries. By the grace of God, they are called to strive for personal holiness, participate in the vibrant life of the Church’s tradition, and thus transform the world. They invite all to join them in person at one of their Masses, especially on Sundays and Wednesday evening, March 18. See you there!
