ICCS Faculty retreat focuses on the heart

Immaculate Conception Cathedral School faculty held their annual Faith Formation Day on Tuesday, Jan. 21, themed, “With all vigilance guard your heart, for in it are the sources of life.” (Proverbs 4:23). The day began with Mass in the Cathedral, followed by speakers including Brother Joel and Brother Matt from CBHS, Cathedral pastor Fr. Robert Marshall, and Cathedral associate pastor Fr. Ruben Villalon-Rivera.

ICCS mindfulness teacher Suzanne Martin led the heartfulness portion of the retreat, during which faculty created prayer flags to send kind thoughts and wishes out to the school, the city, the country, and the world. Mrs. Martin explained that this was a way for faculty to nurture their own hearts, and those of others. The flags are displayed in the school.
