FAQ: Why I Give Catholic Selfie Raffle

$1,500 Prize Sponsored by Window World of Memphis

Who can participate? 

Organizations: Parishes, schools, and ministries.

Individuals: Parishioners, parents, alumni, and supporters.

How does my organization earn points?

Email branded I give Catholic because…. pictures or videos to Allison.thron@cc.cdom.org by November 15 

Leadership Selfies/Videos (Pastor, Principal, Deacon, Council Chair, Ministry Leaders).

Group Shots (classrooms, ministries, congregations).

Official Social Media Posts from your parish/school/ministry page.

Important: If minors are shown, your organization must obtain and keep parental permission.

How do individuals earn points for their parish/school/ministry?

Post a selfie or 30-second video on Facebook and Instagram about “Why I Give Catholic.”

Mention the parish/school/ministry you are supporting.

Posts must be unique, public, and include:

Individuals may also email a branded photo or video to Allison (allison.thron@cc.cdom.org) before Advanced Giving for 1 point (with the understanding it may appear on diocesan social media).

How are minors protected?

Organizations must have written parental permission for any classroom/group shots.

The Diocese will not post selfies of minors unless proper parental or organizational permission is verified.

Parents submitting directly must give their own approval for their children’s images.

What makes a post count?

  • Must be unique (no duplicates across platforms).

  • Must be public.

  • Must include both hashtags and the link.

  • Must reflect the values and beliefs of the Diocese of Memphis.

Posts missing hashtags/link or contrary to Catholic teaching will not count.

How is the winner chosen?

  • Each eligible submission = 1 point.

  • The parish, school, or ministry with the most points after Giving Tuesday wins the $1,500 prize!

We are excited to announce the 2025 Giving Tuesday/#iGiveCatholic Day is December 2, 2025Registration opens on Monday, August 19 and closes on November 1.

Sponsorship Information

You are invited to participate as a sponsor in the eighth annual day of Catholic giving. Millions of individuals across the country will donate to their favorite local Parish, school, or ministry as part of the #iGiveCatholic Campaign on #GivingTuesday.

What is #iGiveCatholic?

  • #iGiveCatholic is a national day of giving meant to inspire our Catholic community to come together and “Give Catholic” on the Global Day of Generosity know as #GivingTuesday.
  • #iGiveCatholic provides Catholic Parishes, schools, and ministries the opportunity to raise funds that are critical to the support of their mission.

How does #iGiveCatholic work?

  • Donors make their gifts online or by cash or check made directly to a participating Catholic nonprofit. Gifts can be made anytime during the Advanced Giving period from November 17 through December 1 or anytime on the December 2 giving day.
  • We are local! All gifts made to the Diocese of Memphis #iGiveCatholic campaign stay with the Parishes, schools, and ministries of the Diocese of Memphis.
  • The Diocese of Memphis will be promoting the campaign on social media and awarding prizes throughout the day.

Who can participate?

  • Anyone can participate with a gift to their favorite Catholic Parish, school, or ministry.
  • #iGiveCatholic participation is open to all Catholic Parishes, Catholic schools and Catholic ministries located in the Diocese of Memphis
