Our Beautiful Mother Church Getting Makeover at 100 Years

Through many blessings and ongoing support, our Diocese’s beautiful Mother Church (the Cathedral) is well underway with a roof renovation and restoration project during its 100 Anniversary year…see a couple photos below. Also, stay tuned to our CDOMWebsite and CDOMFacebook for future Cathedral renovation and restoration updates and photos.

The Parish was founded in 1921 by Bishop Thomas Sebastian Byrne. Immaculate Conception Church was built and became the ninth Catholic Church in Memphis. Named for the Blessed Virgin Mary’s Immaculate Conception, the Parish would eventually be designated as the Cathedral for our Catholic Diocese of Memphis some 50 years later. More on our Mother Church history: Cathedral100Years.
