St. Martin de Porres National Shrine & Institute Offers Classes on Ethics at the Beginning and End of Life

The St. Martin de Porres National Shrine & Institute will sponsor a course on ethics at the beginning and end of life. It will be offered on-line through Zoom and on-site at St. Peter Catholic Church in Memphis. There is no admission fee. The course will be in English and Spanish. The English classes will be on Wed. evenings from 7:00-8:30pm on July 22 & 29 and Aug. 5 & 12. Please scroll down to see the Spanish version of this article for the dates-time of classes in Spanish. The course will consist of four sessions, two addressing beginning of life issues and two on the end of life issues. For the course text, the class will use the USCCB’s (U.S. Conf. of Catholic Bishops) manual on Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services, sixth edition. Fr. Carmen Mele, O.P., will instruct the course. Fr. Mele has a licentiate in moral theology and a certificate from the National Catholic Bioethics Center in medical ethics. Please contact Fr.
