Visitation and Funeral for Olivia King; Many Prayers
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Olivia King. Her funeral is scheduled for this Saturday, Oct. 2, 10am, in the Main Sanctuary. Visitation will be held at Incarnation this Friday, Oct. 1, 6:30pm and Saturday, Oct. 2, 9am. Please keep Olivia’s family in your prayers.
Our deepest sympathy and prayers to the family of Olivia King. Olivia, mother of three and Catholic Church of the Incarnation parishioner, was tragically shot and died in the mass shooting last week at Kroger on New Byhalia Rd. in Collierville.
Our Catholic Diocese of Memphis continues to pray for all victims and loved ones. We pray that these senseless acts of violence will stop. May we all recognize that we are made in the image and likeness of God and continue to do what we can to end these acts and to live together in peace. We need to create the beloved community Jesus envisions now.
We ask Catholics across our Diocese and all Faiths to pray for the shooting victims and their families and all who are suffering physical and emotional wounds as a result the tragedy last week. May the faithful departed be granted eternal life and may our Risen Lord bless us and our nation with His peace. Remember, “the Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” (Ps. 34:19)
