The Very Reverend Keith Stewart (57) has been appointed by Bishop David P. Talley as the Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Memphis in Tennessee, effective July 1.

Reverend Keith Stewart is from Memphis. He was a Southern Baptist who converted to Catholicism while attending University of Memphis. He took instruction with Reverend Elbert Callis and was received into the Catholic Church at St. Anne, Highland.

Reverend Keith Stewart attended St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in Rockport, Ind., and was ordained on June 12, 1993. He celebrates 27 years of priestly ministry tomorrow.

Reverend Keith Stewart has been an MC at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Director of Vocations and Pastor at the Nativity Catholic Church. Presently, since July 2017, he has been Pastor at St. Brigid Catholic Church and, for the past year, he has served a Vicar Forane of the Central Deanery within the Memphis Diocese. Effective August 1, he will become Pastor at St. Louis Catholic Church.
