Catholic Schools Week 2021; Celebrating at St. Ann in Bartlett

The St. Ann Catholic School celebration of Catholic Schools Week was a huge success. The theme this year was: Faith. Excellence. Service. Every day students participated in activities to help honor this theme. A few of our 8th graders wrote and led the morning prayer to reflect the day’s theme.

The week began with celebrating our parish on Sunday. Fr. Ernie DeBlasio dedicated all Masses to Catholic Education. We also began open enrollment, and school tours are now open by appointment only.

Monday’s day of service was super busy. Students hosted a baby clothing drive for Catholic Charities to help fill their need for brand new baby clothes for their new maternal and infant program for mothers in under-resourced areas! Students also brought in snacks and made almost 500 snack bags. These bags were given out on Wednesday to Bartlett Police Department, Catholic Charities Veterans, Ave Maria Health Care Workers and Bartlett Fire Department to celebrate our nation.

Tuesday’s Student Appreciation Day was honored with videos of our teachers telling our students how awesome they are! Each student also received a St. Ann medallion. Zac Cross (7th grader) won our student talent show with a rendition of “Blackbird” on guitar. Allie Dickerson (6th grader) won our art contest. Her art is being made into a keychain!

Thursday, we celebrated vocations as students dressed up in what they hope to do in their future career. So many teachers!

Friday, we were blessed to have the Most Reverend Bishop David Talley come celebrate Mass for our students. His homily really focused on Catholic Schools Week and what it means to receive a Catholic Education. Students thanked the Bishop with cards and St. Ann gear. We also celebrated our teachers with treat bags and a luncheon. Students wrote letters to their parents thanking them for sending them to St. Ann Catholic School.

Saturday we rounded out Catholic Schools Week by celebrating our families. We posted photos and quotes from our families telling why they send their child(ren) to St. Ann Catholic School!

Thank you to everyone that made this week a true reflection of our Catholic Identity.  We are truly blessed.
